Contemporary formality ?
The images below are of a project that i am currently working on. The house and gardens are about a quarter of an acre and it is in a semi rural setting. the images represent the major areas concerned in the redesign.
An existing garage is to be demolished and rebuilt slightly wider and higher to incorporate a kitchen / food prep area this will be linked via bifold doors to an outside patio and raised level terrace for dining and a further adjoining area to incorporate a fire pit.
As you will see from the two left hand photos there is a fair bit of existing concrete to both sides of the garden and a rising level in front of the conservatory and kitchen which is in the foreground to the right of where the picture was taken.
The garden is Westerly facing on a sand / clay ( almost 50 / 50 ) which is neutral pH.
As much lawn as possible is desired to be retained, low maintenance planting and a variety of surfaces ( not all hard paving)
I will over the next few weeks update with the progress of the design process including plan views, dimensions and the concept plan developed from the Clients brief.
