Veg patch and Compost Bins

Here we have 4 photographs taken last week. I placed a wooden edging to one of my clients vegetable patch, It was cultivated last year in the expectation of a cold winter  to break up the clay soil and make it more friable !!!!!! Still waiting. We have however covered the area with garden compost which will break down into the soil to assist in improving the soil structure.
The edging comprises of 150 x 50mm gravel board 3m long fixed to 2" square stakes. it makes a big difference, and much neater appearence. I will divide the area further into 3 areas in addition to the soft fruit that the owners planted last year.

You will also see the Compost Bins which we have started to build. They are a bit high as we will set them into the ground. There will be three bins of about 1m square each and a leaf bin as well.
Hopefully we will have the bins finished this week and then start to break down a large pile of garden waste that was accrued by the previous owners. Due to its nature a shredder of a more heavier duty will have to be used, to break it down to smaller more compostable parts.
